Interested in engaging in ocean science research with the Paleo Lab?
Colgate students, there are several ways that you can get involved in the Paleo Lab:
  • Participate in one of our semi-regularly scheduled "Pizza-and-Paleo" lab open houses. Bring a friend and an appetite for exploring the past. Flyers will be posted in the Department of Earth and Environmental Geosciences and announced via email, twitter, and instagram.
  • Sign up for a weekly 1-hour session during the semester and work with other Colgate student volunteers to sort through the remains of marine populations that lived hundreds to thousands of years ago in the northern Gulf of Mexico.
  • Engage in 10-week paid summer research involving offshore fieldwork in the Gulf of Mexico and lab work on the Colgate campus. Opportunities for next summer will be announced here in early January.
If you are interested and/or have any questions, please send Professor Harnik an email at pharnik [at] colgate [dot] edu.
